We visited Aegina, or “Pistachio Island,” last week with our friends, and we were so happy we did! What an absolutely adorable little island! Pistachio trees are growing everywhere. The smell of fresh fish caught everyday in the sea permeates the markets. A quick road trip around the island will reveal ancient Greek temples, like the Temple of Aphea and Apollos. We had more gyros than I could ever eat again in my lifetime, and enjoyed Greek red wines while viewing the ocean from some killer airbnb’s. The beaches were quiet and beautiful, and the water was so warm, as Aegina is part of the Saronic islands inland in the gulf of Greece. Would definitely go back to this little haven!
beautiful clear and bright photos. Looks like a wonderful place to visit. So nice you had good friends to share it with.
