This past December we visited our favorite African home, Burundi. Unfortunately due to the government’s current political climate, I was not able to shoot with my Nikon, just my iPhone. I hope one day I will be able to wander the streets of Burundi freely with my camera, but for now, these covertly taken photos will have to do. While riding on the back of the motorcycle, shoot bursts of photos from my lap, only to go home later and look at what I managed to capture. I love to share the beauty of this country, one so many people have never even heard of! So these will have to do, but honestly, a good camera is not necessary to capture the unique culture and wonder of this stunning gem of East Africa. On our way back from Burundi, we stopped over in Kenya for a night and got to feed some giraffes! I was definitely trigger happy with my camera there after not being able to shoot for a few weeks in Burundi, so enjoy those bizarrely awkward, long-necked, goofy creatures God made!
love Burundi – so colorful and such beautiful people. I didn’t see the giraffes. Gramma
