Here are some snapshots of our first stop on our Moroccan tour – the city of Fez. From the first minutes off the plane, we were all overwhelmed with the beauty of this country. All the rich colors, the elaborate doors, little kitties running everywhere, markets full of hand-crafted lanterns… Just amazing! We stayed at a KILLER Airbnb, maybe the best one yet. The host’s sister cooked traditional dishes for us each night and it was delicious! We hired a private guide for $50 bucks to lead us around the Medina, which has 9,600+ ally ways (some you can barely fit through!) He took us to the world’s largest tannery, where we each purchased some leather goods! He showed us where the pottery is all hand made. He took us to multiple mosques and ancient libraries and schools, mostly from the 13th or 14th centuries. Next, he took us to the weaver’s, where they hand-weave all the linen and scarves and fabric. We tasted handmade Argon oil and fresh brick-oven bread. No wonder we slept so well! The day and a half we spent there was truly overwhelming.
Enjoy some of the moments from Fez!
