Known as the Blue Pearl of Morocco, this mountain village straight up stole our hearts! Far more laid back that Fez, full of hippies and adventurers, Chefchaouen must be added to your destination list. We stayed at an airbnb/hostel with a few other Americans, who we became insta-friends with! The first day we wandered around the Medina, exploring ally after ally shrouded in blue paint of every color. There is a super old fortress in the middle of the city with some killer views. We walked up to a Spanish mosque on the hillside to watch the sunset over the city. The next day we hiked 12 miles into the Rif Mountains to see some crazy waterfalls! The drive to the trailhead and back offered some of the most spectacular views I have ever seen on earth. Complete with more kitty-friends and laid back culture, we will definitely be back to this place!
such amazing adventures; beautiful camera shots – everything is so clear and bright. Gramma
