Inverness & Loch Ness, Scotland // Fall 2017

Scroll down to content

During our trip to Scotland, we visited some friends in Inverness who graciously gave us a tour of the Scottish Highland’s best sites and sounds – including Loch Ness! Although we never did witness the infamous monster, we did get to climb around on the ruins of Urquhart Castle and visit the Battle of Culloden battleground. We also celebrated Guy Fawkes night, complete with the bonfire, fireworks and a full moon! While exploring the highlands, our friend’s daughter, who loves geo-caching, found a treasure in a field of sheep! The trip ended with a traditional Scottish meal at our friend’s parent’s home, fulfilling not only our bucket list of tasting homemade Scottish food, but also capturing some great sheep pictures. I would go back in a heartbeat, although I may leave behind the haggis…
