Burundi, East Africa // Round One

My husband and I, along with Haylee and Jacque, moved to Burundi in 2012. We lived there two years working with different Christian NGO’s. While living there, I just had my iPhone camera, so this was long before any sort of professional photography days, but even still, I enjoy the moments captured this first year of our time there.

*The above photo I can only take partial credit for. I was walking in a village with Cindy Scammell and she had her camera on her. I saw this scene and pointed it out to her to snap a shot of, and she did a great job!

img_3871* This photo is a memorial to the genocide in Burundi. It is the remainder of a gas station where a bunch of school children were burnt alive by the opposing tribe.
